First Time

What to Expect When You Visit Us

It can be a little intimidating when you come to a church for the first time so we want to give you a small glimpse into what you may experience.

Come as You Are

You will find that many in The Harbor Church will be dressed in shorts and flip flops or jeans and t-shirts. Now, if you feel more comfortable in slacks, sports coats, or dresses that’s great. Come as you are.

You Will Be Greeted

You will receive a hand shake, a smile, and a bulletin at the front door of our building or sanctuary from one of our Greeters.  The Harbor Church "First Impressions" team will help answer any questions you may have and if you have children, they will help you get them to their classrooms.

Friendly People

Harbor Church people are friendly. Don’t be surprised if someone introduces themselves and introduces you to others in the church. You will NOT be asked to stand and introduce yourself in our services.

Coffee and Snacks

Please come a little early and enjoy free coffee, tea, and snacks in our lobby. You can also bring your drinks into the sanctuary. Our free snacks and drinks are available for both Sunday services.

You will see three screens in our sanctuary projecting our music, sermon notes, and videos. Our bands have a contemporary worship style centered on the message of Jesus Christ.

Teaching by Pastor David Towner and his preaching team is mostly expository but can also be topical. You can expect the teaching to be Biblical, theological, and practical with a “Home Application” section you can use at home for the week. The preaching team does use a lot of humor, videos from today’s movies and television shows, and stage props in their sermons. You will not be bored! In your bulletin you will find an outline in which you can write notes from each week’s sermons.

Children's Classes

We have class rooms for nursery, toddler, 3-K, and 1-2nd grade and 3-5th grade during both Sunday morning services. Your children will have fun with trained teachers who love kids! As you drop them off in their classroom, you will receive a number via our computerized security system. This is a security number that keeps the children safe, and helps our teachers make sure the children leave with their parents.

Student Gathering

Harbor Church students (6th-12th grade) meet in our Students Building during the 11am Service.  This is a complete church service for students that includes Student-led worship, an interactive and challenging lesson, and Small Group times with their own age group.
