The Bible is an equal opportunity offender. Sometimes I get offended by what God is cimmanding me to do. God tells us to forgive, speak the truth (no people pleasing and codependency), and love and pray for those who don’t like you. That’s tough and sometimes I’ve struggled to obey Him. But, then, I remember, He is in charge, and I follow His will rather mine. So when the Bible speaks about life, marriage, sex, and gender many get offended about those subjects. And Others say, preach it! But when we talk about what the Bible says about money, material possessions, tithing (Malachi 3:6-12), and giving (2 Corinthians 9:6-7) many people in the church will get offended. But if we believe God is God, then we need to learn to get over our offended positions and obey Him (John 14:15). Food for thought: Did you know that Bible speaks about money and material possessions in over 2,300 verses?
