Abstract: This course will provide a general overview of the Old Testament. It will cover the historical, doctrinal, and Christological purpose of each book from Genesis to Malachi. It will give guidelines for the proper understanding of the Old Testament and prepares for a more in-depth study of the Old Testament books.

Goals:  Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Explain the general content, overall message, flow of thought and significant events and persons for each book of the Old Testament.
2. Interpret the Old Testament in light of its historical and redemptive context.

Format: This course is constructed on subject matter lectures and in-class discussions.
