The Harbor Maintenance

Maintaining His House……over the past few months you might’ve noticed some visual changes around the church.  Here’re some of the major updates which have been done to make The Harbor Church more inviting.  Some improvements were minor, while others were more major, all were done to maintain His House and improve the work of countless others in the past.

Good Friday was the reveal of many big visual changes to The Harbor. As one drove up, they immediately noticed the exterior lighting on all the pergolas; casting the church in a warm, glowing light. These lights invite one to enjoy conversation in the relaxing outdoor furniture after an evening meeting. Moreover, these lights enhance the church’s appeal to passersby, creating a more inviting atmosphere. Exiting one’s vehicle, one could hear the clear sound of the music ministry coming from the new external speakers.

Through a very generous donation from one of our parishioners, the stage was changed from plywood with mismatched area rugs to a beautiful berber-style carpet. In addition, there were wood accent panels added beside and behind the stage area.  These improvements make the stage more professional looking as Pastor Dave and others give their sermons, or while the music ministry performs each week.

Inside the church, there were multiple walls in the foyer and hallway repainted/ touched up, in addition to all the trim work around the doors repainted to freshen up the inside.  The Toddler room received a much-needed stunning blue repaint. All the baseboard trim throughout the church was caulked and painted to make the church more crisp and visually appealing.  Although these are very minor improvements, they reflect upon how The Harbor Church is maintained and our pride in His house.

Other improvements to the property include the addition of a sunshade over the well and pump equipment to protect this extremely expensive equipment from weather damage. This professionally built cover was built to withstand the rigors of the extreme weather of SW Florida.  In the Administration building, Pastor Dave, after many years, received an office “makeover”.  His new digs are in a beach theme, the place that gives him so much inspiration for his powerful weekly  messages.

If you would like to be a part of the maintenance committee, please contact Pastor Dave to be added to the team.  There are many upcoming projects that we can use more assistance to visually beautify The Harbor.
